I have lived in Thailand for about a year, and now am back in the US. I am thinking about going back and was wondering how a "farang" girl with a Thai guy would be accepted. It is fairly normal to see a white guy and a Thai girl, but not the other way around. Also, since I did grow up in the states, I am concerned that the way that we go about dating is very different from that in Thailand. From what I can find, it just says that Thai's are more conservative in the physical sense. I just can't find any information on this. If you have any info about this please let me know.
A: Thailand is a male dominant society, so it's commonly accepted if Thai men married foreign women and there had been many. The truth is not many foreign women, especially Caucasians, would find Asian men attractive.
On the contrary, Thai women married foreign men are always assumed that they married for different purposes, financial matter is one.
So this is not a problem, except you can't act like when you are in US. Display of affection in public is considered inappropriate, so don't do hugging, kissing, etc. when his family or relatives are around.
